Tim Bailey's WRX STi
 

Current Modifications:

This STi is the PDXTuning test platform used to develop and refine all our FP turbo packages.  The addition of CP pistons makes Tim’s motor very durable and a great testing platform.  This car has been dyno tuned, drag raced, and driven on the track for more miles that have put on in regular everyday driving.  However, the fact that this car is a track beast in no way takes away from eats utility as a street car.  In fact, Tim keeps a baby seat snuggly fit in the back seat for trips to and from daycare…  Yes, this 11 second PDXTuning beast is a daily driver for Tim. 

Tim managed an 11.9 @114 in this car on pump fuel in its current configuration – approximately 390 whp @ 22 psi.  0n C16 race fuel and 30 psi Tim’s STi put down an amazing 524 whp and 510 ft pounds of torque.  Unfortunately drag racing this kind of power led to the demise of his now under-rated Exedy hyper single.  With a proper clutch this setup should be good for a mid to low 11 second run.

Goals for next year include a high 10 quarter mile time on this same turbo……  Tim is now collecting the parts for a second motor and heads…. With a little help from COBB tuning and Cosworth Tim’s gonna need a second drive train in short order.

Engine and Drivetrain

PDXTuning built US STi block with CP forged pistons -  balanced to spin to 8000 rpm, ARP head studs, stock head gaskets

Forced performance Red turbo with 8cm exhaust housing, Perrin BIG MAF intake with custom cold air pathway, TGV deleted and intake manifold hand ported, ECU TGV codes turned off, Perrin FMIC

Perrin up pipe (2 layers of header wrap), stock headers, TXS Turbo back exhaust with race pipe mid section,

Drivetrain – Kartboy short shifter and bushings, Cusco engine and transmission mounts, Exedy hyper singe (wasted with one attempted 600 crank HP drag race) now waiting on carbon, carbon twin plate.

Perrin modded stock Injectors cleaned and flow tested by PDXTuning, Aquamist 2D water injection system with DDS3 flow meter and safety boost disable system.

Suspension and Wheels

Tein HA Coilovers with 8 and 6K springs, Perrin PSRS, Perrin rear sway bar, COBB adjustable sway bar end link mounts, Perrin end links.  GP MOTO front strut tower brace.  For track days Rota wheels with Kuhmo race rubber.

Brakes

Stock STi calipers, COBB braided stainless steel lines, Hawk HPS+ brakes for the street and Ferrodo DS300 pads for the track.

Electronics

TXS Electronic boost controller, Defi boost, EGT, and oil temp gauges, Custom Access ECU, TXS UTEC with launch control and map switch, TXS knock and shift light, TXS tuner pro wideband with integrated Labjack A to D for one step logging of AF ratios with either Deltadash or Cobb access ECU ProTuner.
